Project Overview
LIC’s largest engagement with Mangalam Construction Co., and one of the most complete turnkey scopes in the company’s record: a basement, stilt, and four-floor divisional office paired with dedicated officers’ residential quarters on a single campus in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. A mixed-use institutional campus of this kind requires two distinct design and services logics running side by side — commercial office floors and residential accommodation — resolved into one coherent site. The contract carried the full building services stack in a single award: civil, plumbing and sanitary, electrical, fire-fighting, lift installation, solar water heating and solar lighting, borewells and pumps, and landscaping. The inclusion of solar water heating and solar lighting is worth flagging for any sustainability or green-building narrative. Delivering a basement structure also brings excavation, dewatering, and waterproofing challenges absent from slab-on-grade construction.
